Order Information

To order a Business virtual server account, please fill-out our Online Virtual Server Order Form, and your account will be ready within 6 to 12 hours after we receive your order and process your payment. Please note that orders with new domain registration may take upto 12 hours for processing. Also, due to the standard propagation time for InterNIC updates, it may take 24-72 hours for a new domain to be functional across the Internet.

Your Own Domain Name (www.yourname.com)

We configure the DNS entries for your domain name and host name (yourname.com and www.yourname.com) in our servers when we setup your account.

If you already have a domain name, you would need to modify your domain with the appropriate registry with our nameserver and IP address information for moving your domain to our servers. If you are not sure how to modify your domain, please contact us and we will provide the necessary information. Most registries do not charge anything for domain modification, but requires that only the Registrant or Admin Contact for a domain initiates or approves domain modification. You can verify Registrant or Admin Contact for your domain by using our Domain Lookup tool. Domain move does NOT involve any change in domain ownership or domain registrar.

If you order a new domain name, then we register your domain name with your ownership with an appropriate registry and charge you only $14.95 fee (one-year InterNIC or registry fee included!). This fee is non-refundable, requires pre-payment and is in addition to any hosting and setup fee.

If you would like to register your domain yourself or if you are ordering any foreign domain name, then we will provide our nameserver, IP address and technical contact information that you would need to register your domain with any appropriate registry. Please be advised that accurate entry of our nameserver information in the registry database is required before your domain name will work. Also, please note that the domain registry fee would apply, irrespective of the ISP or webhost you select to register or host your domain with. Most registries charge a non-refundable $30.00-$35.00 per year of domain registry fee and require pre-payment of the fee.

Total Traffic (Bytes)

The total traffic represents the total amount of data accessed by visitors of your site through web browsers. Though we do don't offer unlimited traffic for our Business Virtual Servers, data transfers for your web site will not begin to be metered until your web traffic exceeds the limit shown in this page. If your account exceeds the limit, you will be asked to pay for extra traffic at a rate of $0.50 per megabyte (1024 kilobytes) of traffic per month. However, you will be notified in advance before we charge a fee for exceeding allocated traffic. You may also be advised to switch to a higher grade virtual server for the next month. For most customers, this won't be a problem as you will be able to monitor your daily and weekly traffic with Wusage software installed in your account.

POP Email Account

All Business Virtual Server accounts come with multiple POP accounts. A POP account is a password-authenticated protocol based real email account that can receive and store email messages. There are several third party software that you can use to access and manage your POP accounts. Also, at your option, you can automatically redirect your email messages to one of your existing accounts, perhaps the one that you have with your own internet service provider (ISP).

Unlimited Email Aliases with Catch-all Address

An email alias is an address that appears as a real email address, whereas in reality, all messages sent to it is automatically forwarded to another POP email account. Business Virtual Server accounts allow you to use unlimited email aliases with a catch-all address for your domain. For instance, you will be able to use addresses like webmaster@yourdomain.com, sales@yourdomain.com, admin@yourdomain.com and any-name@yourdomain.com. Email messages sent to anything before @yourdomain.com will automatically go to your default POP email account, or to your preferred external account that you have from your ISP or from any other provider. You will be able to manage your catch-all address using Global Web Control Panel 24 hours a day.

Email Redirection

With email redirection option available to Business Virtual Server accounts, you will be able to have messages received at selected addresses forwarded to separate destination addresses. For instance, you may decide to forward emails for webmaster@yourdomain.com to you@yourdomain.com, messages received at sales@yourdomain.com to be forwarded to john123@yahoo.com, and messages for support@yourdomain.com to go to mary@herisp.com and so on. You will be able to create, delete and update the forwarding addresses instantly using Global Web Control Panel 24 hours a day.

Autoresponders

Auto-responders or infobots are preconfigured messages that are automatically emailed by the server as a reply to your clients' email requests for further information on a specific issue related to your business. For example, you might want to have info@yourcomapny.com as an autoresponder address. When you advertise this address and potential customers email to this address for more information, they would instantly get a message of your choice. Our system also allows you to automatically keep track of the people who have used your auto-responders, as copies of their request mails can be forwarded to your email address.

Password Protected Web Directories

You will be able to use Global Web Control Panel (GWCP) that we install in your account to instantly password protect any of your web directories. This will require visitors to the protected part of your website to enter username and password before they can view the contents in that directory. The GWCP also allows you to list the authorized users in each directory, add single to unlimited users and passwords for any web directory, remove access for selective users, and completely un-protect a previously protected directory, all with your browsers instantly without requiring any programming knowledge. Also, to the best or our knowledge, the GWCP password protection manager is the only cgi-based software of its kind in the internet which can intelligently avoid corrupting FrontPage webs since it checks for FrontPage web setting before modifying password setting for any web directory. Web-Based Mailing Lists

With all Business accounts, you will be able to use our proprietary Global Web Control Panel to manage your mailing list(s) and subscribers. As the list administrator, you will be able to add or remove subscribers from your list(s), view or download a copy of the list, get a count for the total number of subscribers in the list, lookup any specific address in a list, and send an instant message to all the subscribers from a password protected web page. Each mailing list can include upto 1000 email addresses, and each email message to a mailing list can be upto 75k.

Subscribable Listservers

A listserver allows multiple people who have subscribed to share information and opinions on a specific topic to interact through instant email messages. Each listserver can include upto 1000 names, and each email message to a listserver can be upto 75k. Using the listserver, any subscriber can send a message to all subscribers to the listserver by simply sending a single email to the listserver. Integrating the listserver with infobots and automated mailing list management programs that we provide with your account, you can allow your clients to be automatically included in the listserver when they send an email message to a subscription address of your choice.

FTP Account

An FTP account is a file transfer protocol based account that is used for uploading and downloading files to and from your account. All Business Virtual Servers allow you to have FTP access to your account, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. There are several FTP software in the market that you can use to upload and download files to and from your virtual server.

Anonymous FTP Account

An anonymous FTP account let you allow your visitors to upload or download specific files to and from a specific directory in your account through FTP without giving them the main account id or password. This is a convenient and secure feature that you can use if you would need to exchange files with your clients.

Unlimited Secure Shell (SSH) Access

Qualified business accounts get unlimited SSH shell access to the server, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Unlike many other companies which don't allow you to have shell access, we offer you the flexibility of shell access as long as the access is not used for abusive purposes as defined in our policies. 

FrontPage Extensions

All of our Business Virtual Server accounts offer you the option of using Microsoft FrontPage98/2000 extensions at no additional cost to you! This means if you are using Microsoft FrontPage to author or design web pages, you can publish highly professional looking web pages at your virtual server quickly and easily.
 

Online Commerce Solutions (Optional)

Your virtual server can be configured for ecommerce functionalities with online payment processing gateways, such as PayPal, LinkPoint, CyberCash etc. These are third party services that can process your customers' credit cards, charge cards and checks online, and deposit money to your account. In most instances, the party you sign-up with will provide you with the details of configuration instructions that you can implement in your website.

Secure Server Access

Secure servers allow encrypted transport of information over the web. This feature is considered very significant for certain data transfer needs including for credit card transactions and confidential communications. All Business Virtual Server accounts allow you to use SSL in your account.

Detailed Traffic Statistics

For all Business Virtual Servers, we offer you access to detailed traffic statistics for your website with an easy-to-understand graphic interface. The statistics is generated by Wusage 6.0 software that are licensed and pre-installed for your use in your accounts. This is greatly useful for businesses that would like to relate their marketing strategies and advertising campaigns with increases (or decreases) in incoming traffic to their web sites. 

Customizable "File Not Found" Page

All Business Virtual Servers can be configured so that you can make a custom-made page named missing.html in your www root directory. Whenever visitors in your site enter a bad URL, they will see this page. This page replaces the Error 404, "File not Found" page. You can customize this page so that it has a link to the correct URL of your homepage, index page, or any other page you like in your website. That way you won't miss any visitor to your site, even though they forgot the correct URL but simply remembered your domain name!

CGI, Perl5, Java, and SSI Supported

Our business accounts allow you to install and execute your own CGI (Common Gateway Interface) Perl and Java scripts, provided they are executed in a way which is both safe and healthy for the servers. Also, our servers support Server Side Includes (SSI), in case you wish to use any cgi features that require them.

Several Pre-configured CGI Scripts

All Business Virtual Servers come with your own CGI-bin and several pre-installed CGI scripts - all included absolutely FREE. While some of them are fully configured and ready to run, you can customize any or all of them to meet your specific requirements. All Business Virtual Servers offer you the option of using a CGI based counter program that shows the number of times a particular file is accessed by visitors to your site. The counter program is already configured to work with your account so that you can see the number of times your main files were loaded by your visitors.
