Information that We Collect

Order and Payment Information:

If you order a domain, hosting, virtual server or dedicated server account from GlobalFront, then you are required to enter your name, address, phone number, email address and payment information in our site.

Associate Program Participant Information:

If you apply for participation in our Referrer, Web Designer, Reseller or Domain Services Reseller program, then you are required to submit information regarding your name, email address, URL, and payee address.

Communication between You and GlobalFront:

When you email or otherwise communicate to us regarding any account or service, depending on the subject or content of communication, you may or may not be required to include your personal information in your communication.

Survey and Preference Data:

Occasionally, we may offer optional questionnaires and surveys to our users for the purposes of assessing users' interests and needs.

Server Log Data:

When you visit our website, browse through various pages and other components in our website, sign-up for any program or order any service in our website, the page views are logged by our servers using the visitor IP and network addresses and time. Additionally, when you log into Global Web Control Panel or Global Domain Control Panel, our software log your IP address, updates performed and time. We do NOT collect visitor usernames, email addresses or any individually identifiable information as part of the server or control panel logs.

Subscription to Our Mailing Lists:

When you subscribe to any of our mailing list(s), you are required to provide your email address to us.

Our Use of the Information

Order and Payment Information:

The order and payment information is used by GlobalFront or its staff to process your order, to register your domain name if applicable, to verify your credit card or check information while processing your payment, to protect us and consumers including you against credit card or bank account fraud, and to contact you should the need arise. We give access to individually identifiable information about your payment or account only to those staff who require it to process your order or payment.

The contact information that you provide to us during registration of a new domain name is used for registration and maintenance of a .com, .net, or .org domain name by NSI (Network Solutions, Inc., the current registry for all .com, .net and .org domains) and any applicable ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) accredited registrar. Current NSI and ICANN policies require that this information will be available to the members of the public, who may query for information on any specific domain registrant and contact address. You acknowledge that this information will be publicly available through whois queries facilitated by GlobalFront as well as by other registrars, ISPs, and web hosts. GlobalFront only uses this information strictly for registration of the domain name your order, and does NOT compile, sell or rent this information to any third party, nor endorses use of your personal information by advertisers or spammers.

Associate Program Participant Information:

The associate program sign-up information is used by us to verify that your site or business type complies with our associate program policy requirements, to create and send login information to you, to mail commissions earned by you to you or to your preferred payee address, and to contact you regarding updates of our associate programs.

Communication between You and GlobalFront:

Content of any communication between you and GlobalFront may or may not be saved by GlobalFront or its staff. This includes emails sent by you to GlobalFront, emails sent by GlobalFront staff to you, and any other communication that you might have with any GlobalFront sales or support persons by phone or by mail. The contents of such communications are strictly used by us to provide technical or other support to you, to update your account or contact information, and to verify your identify and account status in our servers whenever you order anything that requires verification of authenticity.

Survey and Preference Data:

Information collected through occasional surveys are strictly used for the purposes explained in the surveys. Such information is only used by us to generate aggregated statistical information for us to improve our site and services. This data do not contain personally identifying information, such as names or email addresses. We may make the aggregated information available to the public without disclosing personally identifiable information.

Server Log Data:

We use the server log data to improve our website and its navigability, to track referrals by GlobalFront associates and other third parties, to protect us and our clients from fraud and abusive practices, to maintain our site security, or to investigate any cases of possible abuse or violation of GlobalFront policies. Global Domain Control Panel and Global Web Control Panel logs are used to monitor the navigability, access logs, and update logs for the purposes of detecting or preventing possible security breaks.

Subscription to our Mailing Lists:

If you subscribe to any of our mailing lists, then we reserve the right to email you regarding the information you subscribed for through the particular mailing list. Subscription to our mailing lists are optional, and we offer web-based opt-out option so that you can unsubscribe from our mailing list(s) anytime you like. Subscriber emails are stored in an appropriate mailing list in our server for use by GlobalFront only. GlobalFront does NOT share, sell or rent any of its mailing lists to any third party.

Disclosure to Third Parties

GlobalFront does not share, rent or sell any of your personal information to any third party, except for the limited purposes described below where we may disclose your personal information to the appropriate third party:

• If we are asked to disclose personal information by any duly-empowered governmental authorities, including any law enforcement authority or court order.

• For investigation related to your breach in GlobalFront policies, or violation of any Federal, State or local laws of the United States. For instance we reserve the right to share any spam email content to any third party for investigative purposes.

• If we have express permission from you to share your personal information with any other entity.

• If we have already disclosed our policy of sharing your information to specific third parties, such as specified for domain registration information specified above.

• We also reserve the right to share your personal or payment information to any collection agency if you have an overdue account balance. You will be notified by us before we share such information to any third party.

• We may share aggregated statistical data with the general public for our business promotion and advertisement. For example, we may mention in our advertisement that 9% of our users are from Iowa, 23% of our users are from non-profit organizations, 72% of our users have a business, and so on.

• If you participate in any third party survey or sign-up for any third party service through our website, the information collected by the third party may be used by the third party subject to the discretion or the policy of the third party.
  

Privacy Policy Changes

We reserve the right, at our discretion to change, modify, add or remove portions of this policy at any time. If we decide to change any of our privacy policies, the changes will be posted here in this area so that you will always know the information we gather, how we might use that information and to whom we will disclose it.
